Canon Honored for Bringing Innovative, Portable, Low Cost
Digital Radiography to the Marketplace
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y, July 20, 2005 - - Recognized as the leader in successfully
bringing innovative, portable, low-cost digital radiography to the market,
Canon U.S.A., Inc., today was presented with Frost & Sullivan’s
2005 Customer Value Enhancement (CVE) Award in Medical Imaging.
Frost & Sullivan’s CVE Award is presented each
year to the company that has best demonstrated the ability
to expand its customer base, while maintaining its existing
install base, with more innovative value creation and enhancement
strategies than competing vendors. Canon delivered the
industry’s first portable DR system – the Canon
CXDI-31 – in 2001. Canon’s second generation
portable DR system – the Canon CXDI-50G – is
currently used in more than 150 medical institutions and
facilities nationwide to provide rapid digital X-ray images.

The Canon CXDI-31 and Canon CXDI-50G portable DR systems were designed to leverage
DR technology in settings where conventional radiography and CR systems could
only be used.
The Canon CXDI-31 is a unique offering that is designed
specifically for imaging neonatal extremities and veterinarian
applications, while the Canon CXDI-50G DR system is large
enough for chest and abdominal X-rays, and can be combined
with a mobile X-ray unit to bring digital radiography directly
to the patient’s bedside.
