U.S.A. SHOWCASES ITS NEWEST MYDRIATIC DIGITAL RETINAL CAMERA
AT THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF OPHTHALMOLOGY'S ANNUAL MEETING
IN NEW ORLEANS
New Canon CF-1 Digital Retinal Camera
Provides High-Resolution Imaging Performance and Heightened
Efficiency for Ophthalmic Professionals
NEW ORLEANS, November 10, 2007 – At the American
Academy of Ophthalmology's (AAO) Annual Meeting, Canon U.S.A.,
Inc., is showcasing its CF-1 Digital Retinal Camera and
imageSPECTRUM Software. The complete Canon line of total
digital imaging and workflow management solutions for eyecare
professionals can be viewed in Hall H, booth #3713 at the
Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans (November
10th – 13th ).
"Whether they are part of a small practice or a busy
healthcare facility, Canon strives to provide ophthalmologists
with the latest digital imaging technology, helping doctors
to provide quality care to their patients, as well as to
efficiently operate their practices," said Tsuneo Imai,
director and general manager, Canon Medical Systems. "The
CF-1 Digital Retinal Camera, when coupled with our optional
imageSPECTRUM Software, can play a significant role in improving
the efficiency of Eyecare exams and the management of patient
data and images."
The Canon CF-1 Digital Retinal Camera, introduced earlier
this year, features a redesigned optical system that achieves
high-resolution diagnostic images and outstanding operability.
When attached to a Canon EOS 40D Digital SLR Camera (sold
separately), which provides up to 10.1 million pixels, the
CF-1 is capable of delivering clear and detailed diagnostic
images for virtually immediate review. The CF-1 offers exceptional
ease of use and an ergonomic, streamlined design helps to
achieve improved operation by motorizing procedures usually
performed by hand. All CF-1 functions are integrated into
a single tabletop unit with a power supply built directly
into the base. The new compact design allows for closer
interaction with the patient and easier access to the patient's
eyes.
Canon imageSPECTRUM software facilitates comprehensive
study management and image capture control at the operator's
finger tips, through an intuitive graphical interface that
is simple and straightforward to use. This newly developed
PC-based software package allows for quick, easy input and
access to information and images. The DICOM (Digital Imaging
and Communication in Medicine) Standard-compliant interface
enables easy integration with select DICOM modalities* and
allows connection to a variety of network configurations
such as LAN or WAN.

solutions for the ophthalmic world, including Non-Mydriatic
