U.S.A. DEBUTS ITS NEWEST MYDRIATIC DIGITAL RETINAL CAMERA
Canon's New CF-1 Digital Retinal Camera
Provides High-Resolution Imaging Performance and Heightened
Efficiency for Ophthalmic Professionals
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., August 16, 2007– Strengthening
its position as a leading provider of total digital imaging
and workflow management solutions for eyecare professionals,
Canon U.S.A, Inc., today announced the introduction of the
Canon CF-1 Digital Retinal Camera.
Featuring a redesigned optical system that achieves high
resolution diagnostic images and offers outstanding operability,
the CF-1 enables a 50-degree angle of view, providing detailed
retinal images and is equipped with three imaging modes:
color, fluorescein angiography and red-free. When attached
to a Canon EOS 30D Digital SLR Camera (sold separately),
which provides up to 8.2 million pixels, the CF-1 is capable
of delivering clear and detailed diagnostic images for immediate
review.
"Canon strives to provide ophthalmologists and optometrists
with the latest digital imaging technology, allowing doctors
to continue to provide comprehensive, high-end care to their
patients, as well as helping them to efficiently operate
their practices," said Tsuneo Imai, director and general
manager, Canon Medical Systems. "The CF-1 Digital Retinal
Camera, coupled with our Retinal Imaging Control Software,
can play a significant role in improving the efficiency
of Eyecare exams and the management of patient data and
images."
The CF-1 provides impressive flexibility with smooth wide-range
pan and tilt movements for exceptional ease of use. The
ergonomic, streamlined design of the CF-1 achieves improved
operation by motorizing procedures usually performed by
hand, such as changing filters and adjusting the chin rest.
All CF-1 functions are integrated into a single tabletop
unit with a power supply built directly into the base. The
new compact design allows for closer interaction with the
patient and easier access to the patient's eyes.
The CF-1 system includes Retinal Imaging Control Software;
which facilitates comprehensive study management and image
capture control at the operator's finger tips, in an intuitive
graphical interface that is simple and straightforward to
use. This newly developed PC-based software package provides
quick, easy input and access to information and images required.
The DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine)
standard-compliant network interface enables easy integration
with existing image management systems and allows connection
to a variety of network configurations such as LAN or WAN
and PACS communication.
The Canon CF-1 Digital Retinal Camera with Retinal Imaging
Control Software is now available.
